Archway Gallery Presents: A Group Exhibition in Celebration of Earth Day 2022

The group exhibition- For the love of Earth– will have an opening reception at 5-8 PM and an Artist Talk at 6:30 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2022. Archway Gallery has chosen to partner with Citizens’ Environmental Coalition; 25% of the sales of the works featured in For Love of Earth will be donated to CEC. CEC Board President Steve Stelzer said “partnerships like this one with Archway Gallery help further the CEC mission. We love to see our community on Earth Day contemplating actions to restore something in the environment and we applaud these artists for using their creative platform to further the cause”.

Following the opening, there will be a speaker series, which features two of our board members:

April 7: “At home solutions for marine debris and pollution”, Charlotte Cisneros, Community Programs Manager at Galveston Bay Foundation

April 21: “Circular Economy”, Steve Stelzer, Program Director at the City of Houston Green Building Resource Center

4th Annual Wild About Houston Green Film Festival: Fri., Dec. 17, 2021

The Wild About Houston Green Film Festival returns in 2021 with an exciting lineup of short films about Greater Houston’s environment.

Join CEC for the 4th Annual Wild About Houston Green Film Festival, showcasing more than a dozen short films from the Greater Houston Area that tell the story of local environmental issues, their champions, and how you can make a difference.

The in-person event will be held on Friday, December 17, 2021 at MECA (1900 Kane St. 77007) following an informal open house as part of CEC’s 50th Anniversary celebration. For COVID safety, face masks will be required while inside the building.

  • 5:30pm – Open House
  • 7pm – Film Festival

Event attendees will have a chance to vote to determine which films will be shown at the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour, hosted by CEC in January 2022.

The Citizens’ Environmental Coalition is a coalition of both individuals and more than 130 member organizations working together to create a stronger environmental community. Since 1971, CEC has worked to foster dialogue, education, and collaboration on environmental issues in the Greater Houston region.
