 While the Perseids meteor shower is an annual occurrence, the display this year should be especially dazzling, with about 160-200 meteors–rather than the 80-100 of a regular Perseid shower–igniting in earth’s atmosphere each hour on Thursday night and Friday morning, according to the New York Times.
