San Jacinto Conservation Coalition is looking for part-time paid and volunteer interns. Depending on interns’ interest and experience, work may include work on grant applications, developing a canoe and kayak trail, website design, desktop publishing, Powerpoint design, and other activities.
Japhet Creek is a tributary of Buffalo Bayou on the north side of the bayou. Its spring-fed waters have been a dumping ground for years. In November 2004, the Japhet Creek Civic Club decided to clean up the creek and restore the habitat.
The City of Houston, along with co-sponsor Keep Houston Beautiful, will host the 2006 Environmental Summit on Thursday, June 1, at the Marriott Westchase.
