CEC’s annual meeting on Tuesday, April 24, will feature a presentation on the effect of global warming on Houston. Dr. Barry Lefer, atmospheric scientist and assistant professor in geophysics at University of Houston, and LaVerne Williams, a local pioneer in green architecture, will make presentations about the global and local effects of atmospheric warming.
The Houston Parks and Recreation Department is revising the Parks Master Plan which will guide future development. The department will hold a series of forums from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on the dates below to encourage citizens to discuss their perceptions of parks and recreation and their priorities for parks, services, indoor and outdoor recreation facilities and open spaces.
Lake Houston Park’s “Birding Adventure 102” will be April 27th & 28th. This unique, fun and exciting adventure includes an “owl prowl,” birding workshop, cabin lodging, and a guided bird walk.
