Position Summary:

Your primary responsibility will be to assist the Food Partnership Manager in expanding the food donor network through lead follow-up, research, and new lead generation. Your success will have a profound influence on the organization’s continued growth and service to our community. This position requires initiative, perseverance, and flexibility. Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist the Food Partnership Manager in identifying and qualifying potential food donors, effectively communicating the benefits and impact of partnering with Second Servings.
• Make sales calls (using your personal vehicle) to prospective food donors, reviewing Second Servings’ program guidelines and procedures, and completing the onboarding process.
• Develop and maintain strong donor relationships and a sense of shared purpose.
• Coordinate with logistics staff to schedule new food donor pickups, ensuring a seamless onboarding process.
• Oversee initial pickups at new donor sites to ensure donors’ satisfaction.
• Help onboard, train, and oversee new nonprofit “PopUp Grocery Store” program participants.
• Maintain Salesforce database with all account contacts, progress, and delivery information.
• Analyze food donation and distribution data for impact reporting.

Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of successful sales, business development, or account management experience.
• Proven ability to deliver compelling written and oral presentations.
• Strong communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and impact.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Outlook.
• Passionate about Second Servings’ mission.
• Experience in the food service industry is a plus.
• Proficient in Salesforce or another Customer Relationship Management (CRM) technology or ability to learn quickly.
• Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) is a plus.
• Highly organized, persevering, and responsive.
• Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams, donors, and partners.
• A team player with a neat, professional appearance.
• The ability to obtain a safe food handling license (such as ServSafe).
• Successful completion of a background check and drug test.
• You are authorized to work in the U.S. without restrictions.
• Reliable vehicle for the job, with reimbursement for business mileage at the current IRS rate.
• Punctual and dependable.

Physical Abilities Required:

• Able to perform moderate physical labor (lift to 30 lbs.).
• Able to occasionally work in refrigerated areas (cooler and freezer) for very brief periods.
• Able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, climb in and out of a vehicle, speak, and hear clearly.
