Title: Project WET Educator Workshop
Location: WaterWorks
Link out: Click here
Description: On Thursday, August 2 the WaterWorks Education Center will begin a new phase of its education and outreach effort with a Teacher and Educator Workshop.

The Workshop, a Project WET 6-hour Educator Workshop, will be held at the WaterWorks beginning at 9 a.m. The workshop will last until 4 p.m. Attendees must attend the entire workshop to receive the Project WET 2.0 Educator Curriculum and Activity Guide.

Since opening in October 2010, the WaterWorks has provided education and outreach programing to over 8,000 students, teachers and other educators and community groups. With the addition of teacher and educator workshops, the Center is extending its reach to additional educators and will provide additional insight into available programs. The WaterWorks was recently granted Host Institution status through the National Project WET office and will be able to provide access to the national water education programs.

The workshop will survey the newly published Project WET 2.0 Curriculum and Activity Guide and its activities. An overview of the WaterWorks Education Center programs and a tour of the education center exhibits will all be part of the 6-hour workshop.

The workshop is open to formal and informal educators throughout the Houston area. Educate, Empower, Act – The mission of Project WET is to reach children, parents, educators and communities of the world with water education. We invite you to join us in educating children about the most precious resource on the planet — water.
