Houston City Council Agenda – December 1, 2020

The city will consider the following agenda items at the Houston City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, 2020, which will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams at 1:50 PM. Public comment will be allowed Tuesday, December 1, 2020 by teleconference. This meeting will cover topics relating to the appointment of several individuals to the Houston Park Board LCG, purchases for Houston Public Works, the authorization of a grant application to a Solid Waste Grant Program, the expansion of several Municipal Utility Districts, among other topics.

  • Agenda Item 4 is a recommendation from the mayor for the confirmation of several individuals to the Houston Parks Board LCG, INC for terms to expire January 1, 2023.
  • Agenda Item 5 is a recommendation from the Director of Houston Public Works for paument to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality for 2021 Public Health Service Fees at a cost of $2,325,612.
  • Agenda Item 11 is related to the purchase of Polymer Feed Systems for Houston Public Works at a cost of $59,980.
  • Agenda Item 13 is related to the purchase of PVC Gravity SDR-35 Sewer Pipes and Fitting for Houston Public Works at a cost of $246,357.
  • Agenda Item 15 is an ordinance amending Article V and Article XI of Chapter 47 of the Code of Ordinances of Houston, Texas relating to Regulation of Discharges to the City’s Wastewater System.
  • Agenda Item 16 is a resolution supporting the provision of adequate resources and funding to operate the City of Houston Industrial Pretreatment Program.
  • Agenda Item 36 is an ordinance approving and authorizing the submission of a grant application for grant funds through the Houston-Galveston Area Council for the FY20/21 Solid Waste Grant Program.
  • Agenda Item 43 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 5.9885 acres of land to the Northwest Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 15
  • Agenda Item 44 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 23.006 acres of land to North Belt Utility District.
  • Agenda Item 45 is an ordinance consenting to the addition of 10.0004 acres of land to Reid Road Municipal Utility District.
  • Agenda Item 46 is an ordinance approving and authorizing the Purchase and Sale Agreement for acquisition of approximately 9.9727 airs of land located at Ammar Street for the Spellman Detention Basin Project in the amount of $1,303,233.
  • Agenda Item 47 is an ordinance extending the term of existing Untreated Water Supply Contracts between the City of Houston and its unrelated water customers sert to expire December 31, 2020.
  • Agenda Item 48 is an ordinance appropriating $1,300,000 out of Dedicate Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund-Drainage Charge as an additional appropriation for FY2020 Local Drainage Program Contract #1 with PM Construction & Rehab LLC.
  • Agenda Item 49 is an ordinance appropriating $1,050,000 out of Dedicated Drainage and Street Renewal Capital Fund-Drainage Charge; approving and authorizing Professional Engineering Services Contract between the City of Houston and R.G. Miller, INC for Design of FY21 SWAT Drainage Rehabilitation Work Order Design Contract #1.
  • Agenda Item 50 is an ordinance appropriating $2,096,657 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund; approving and authorizing Professional Engineering Services Contract Between the City of Houston and Brown & Gay Engineers, INC for rehabilitation of Water Storage Tanks at Various Locations.
  • Agenda Item 51 is an ordinance authorizing the transfer of $2,593,947 from Water & Sewer System Consolidated Fund into the HPW-NEWPP Construction Fund; appropriating $2,593,947 from HPW-NEWPP Construction Fund and approving expenditure of said sum for services associated with the Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion Project; appropriating $148,281,578 from the Water Authorities Capital Contrib-NEWPP Fund and approving the expenditure of said sum for the Northeast Water Purification Plant Expansion Project.
