CEC Welcomes Nhu Bui as Environmental Communications & Policy Intern

Nhu Bui is a recent graduate of Cy-Fair High School and will be attending Duke University as a freshman this fall. She plans to major in Environmental Science and Policy on the Pre-Law track in the hopes of becoming an environmental lawyer. Nhu is particularly interested in environmental justice and the intersection between environmentalism and human rights. She hopes to be able to investigate the ways in which a community’s environment affects their quality of life in order to improve conditions for people all over the world.

In addition to being involved in environmental organizations, Nhu was an avid member of her high school speech and debate team, cultivating a passion for politics. Here, she debated and gave speeches on ecological topics; this created a different perspective on environmental issues. Through studying environmental policy, Nhu is glad to be able to combine her love for the environment with her writing and analytical skills.

Nhu has harbored a lifelong love of nature, with a particular passion for wildlife, and is eager to turn that passion into action. Thus, she is excited to join the CEC and learn as much as possible about environmental work and the role that the government plays in conservation.
