CEC welcomes Bianca Ibarra as Media and Production Intern

Bianca Ibarra is a Junior at the Valenti School of Communication and the C.T. Bauer College of Business studying Media Production and Marketing at the University of Houston. As she pursues her degrees, Bianca has had her films screened at Rice Media Center and the Wild & Scenic Film Festival on Tour which has led her to be interviewed by NBC News in New York.

She is beyond excited to work with the Citizens’ Environmental Coalition as an intern this summer and looks forward to building her craft within the media.

As a hobby, Bianca collects vintage artifacts, with her proudest possession being a 1960’s map of Disneyland. She runs a Disney blog and hopes to become a Creative Director and work within the Walt Disney Company in the years following her graduation.

Bianca is working at the CEC as part of the prestigious Mickey Leland Environmental Internship Program, organized by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. The goals of the programs are:

  • To heighten the awareness and encourage the participation of minorities, women, and economically disadvantaged college/university students regarding environmental-related issues and policies.
  • To develop a diversified work force within Texas’ environmental agencies and private corporations by promoting employment opportunities for students exploring future careers in environmental and related fields.
  • To train and equip students as environmental professionals and future leaders.

Bianca can be reached at bianca.ibarra@cechouston.org.
