CEC welcomes Ken Fountain as Newsletter Editor

Ken Fountain, a journalist and blogger with a deep interest in environmental matters, began editing the CEC weekly newsletter in March 2018. A Houston native, he began his communications career as a U.S. Navy journalist aboard an aircraft carrier based in San Diego. He has worked as a reporter, editor and online producer for newspapers large and small in Southern California and Southeast Texas, a correspondent for a national legal news service, and a stringer for an international wire service. He has covered petrochemical news for an industry publication, and has worked in marketing in the academic and the nonprofit spheres. He has served as a board member of the Houston chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, and has been a member of Investigative Reporters and Editors and the Society of Environmental Journalists. In his free time, he enjoys hiking and biking, and attending cultural and educational events around town.
