Location: Herod Elementary School
Link out: Click here
Description:
On Sept. 29, 2012, the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council will host the first ever Green Apple Day of Service. For one day, advocates from across the country and around the world will come together in support of healthy, sustainable schools by taking real action in their communities.
USGBC Emerging Professionals are teaming up with Tim Murray and volunteers at Herod Elementary to support this event!
Come help complete the native landscaping for Herod Elementary, a LEED-certified s
chool! We’ll be planting the library gardens as well as doing general grounds clean-up to help the native landscape plan progress after it was slowed due last year’s drought. When fully realized, the landscaping will demonstrate a variety of Texas bioregions as well as a rain garden and butterfly garden. Please bring shovels and wheelbarrows! Thank you!
