Description: HOUSTON, September 11, 2012 –Urban ForesTree Keeper, (UFTK) Trees For Houston’s continuing education course in tree care and urban forestry, is offered each fall to Houstonians. Classes teach the basics of tree identification, proper planting techniques, site suitability and planting care. The course also focuses on the environmental role of trees in our city.

The course, taught by local forestry experts consists of three hours of classroom study, three hours of workshop application. After fulfilling the course requirements, class members will be certified as Urban ForesTree Keepers. Upon completion of the program, each UFTK student receives a digital tree care manual, graduation certificate, and Trees For Houston t-shirt. The cost is $25 to participate.
