Visit a beautiful farm that began, in 2005, as a bamboo farm and has grown into fruit orchards, ten vegetable gardens, water buffalo paddocks (and a bamboo nursery). Then experience a 2 1/2 hour class in which you will learn about developing & maintaining healthy soil.
CLASS FREE To Urban Harvest VENDORS only.
Bring a potluck dish to share.
FARM TOUR & POTLUCK Free to Everyone: 11:00 am – 2:30 pm
CLASS: 2:30 – 4:30 pm
Directions to Utility Research Garden: 288 South to Lake Jackson; Exit FM 2004; Right on FM 2004; Cross Brazos River; Left at Hwy. 36; 1 1/4 mile to 55 MPH sign; Right on Stephen F. Austin Road or Laurel Lane.
Instructor David Cater of Utility Research Garden has become a leading authority on propagating and growing bamboo, with over 15 years of experience. Seven years ago he expanded his business to include vegetables and fruits, which he grows sustainably and sells at farmers markets.
There are no refunds on classes.
