Coalition Notes 9-22-2010

  1. Air On Tap. Air On Tap  is a party for our planet to heighten awareness of Houston’s air quality while reminding each of us to decrease our individual footprint and improve the health and nature of our great city. Guests will enjoy delectable cuisine from some of Houston’s favorite restaurants, an array of Saint Arnold beer and other beverages, live music, and a truly heady experience, a one-of-a-kind oxygen bar complete with five different aromas to choose from. Tickets are $25.   2. Adopt a Beach. There will be a beach cleanup along the Texas coast. Volunteers can just show up on the day of the cleanup, dressed comfortably. Recommended items to bring include sunscreen, close-toed shoes, gloves, hats, and drinking water. Sites include Horsepen Bayou, Bolivar Peninsula, Seabrook, Virginia Point, Galveston Island, Surfside, Quintana Park, Bay City, and Matagorda Beach.   3. Turn Texas Green – Help Texas Environmental Candidates! Sierra Club Houston is hosting a fundraising reception on September 30th from 7:00-8:30pm.   4. Children At Risk Fall Gallery. This Thursday, September 23, is the Children At Risk’s Fall Gallery at 5:30pm. This is taking place at the Anya Tish Gallery and will honor individuals for their commitment and support. This event will all you to have a glass of wine and some hors d’oeuvres will supporting the local art scene. More on the Children at Risk Facebook page.
