BAYOU CITY FARMERS’ MARKET CELEBRATES THIRD ANNIVERSARY

Bayou City Farmers’ Market, started by Urban Harvest three years ago, is growing by leaps and bounds. It has about 30 vendors every Saturday and regularly draws 1,000 visitors.

TEXAS ADOPT-A-BEACH FALL CLEANUP SEPTEMBER 22

The Texas General Land Office Adopt-A-Beach Program began in the fall of 1986, when 2,800 volunteers picked up 124 tons of trash. Since then, more than 355,000 volunteers have removed 6,700 tons of trash from Texas beaches.
