Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award winner poet Mary Oliver will read her work on Monday, April 16, at the Alley Theatre, 615 Texas Avenue, at 7:30 pm. General admission tickets are $10. Oliver’s work is famous for its lyrical connection to the natural world.
Houston City Council member Toni Lawrence, County Commissioner Jerry Eversole, and George DeMontrond, Roy Hearnsberger, and Melissa and Bill King are holding a fundraiser for West 11 the Street Park on April 18 from 5:30 to 7 pm at Willie G’s restaurant, 1605 Post Oak Blvd.
