Japhet Creek is a tributary of Buffalo Bayou on the north side of the bayou. Its spring-fed waters have been a dumping ground for years. In November 2004, the Japhet Creek Civic Club decided to clean up the creek and restore the habitat.
The City of Houston, along with co-sponsor Keep Houston Beautiful, will host the 2006 Environmental Summit on Thursday, June 1, at the Marriott Westchase.
Galveston Bay Conservation and Preservation Association presents the Bay Preservation Jam on Sunday, June 4, from 1 – 5 pm. The performers include Rocky Hill, Janet Z, Jon Townsend with Danny D, and Viva Los Chuyz. The event will be at Landolt Pavilion at Clear Lake Park.
