Additional duties include assisting with the development, marketing and implementation of environmental education programs and events for the Woodlands residents, schools, and community groups. The Woodlands Township is seeking Mosquito Surveillance Technicians, who are responsible for conducting mosquito surveillance operations for disease carrying and nuisance mosquitoes in both field and laboratory settings, under the supervision of the Senior Education Specialist, Environmental Services Department. Technicians work an average 20-25 hours per week from mid-May through November with an opportunity to extend the term of employment – students returning to college in August can also be accommodated. This role offers a great opportunity to gain experience in field science, insect identification, sample processing, data entry, and public outreach on a broad array of topics that support the Environmental Services Department mission.
