Texas Conservation Corps seeks Forestry Recreation Technicians

The Texas Conservation Corps, part of American Youthworks, in partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, is placing two Forestry Recreation Technician AmeriCorps members at Sam Houston National Forest near New Waverly.  The Forestry Recreation Technicians will work alongside USFS Recreation Program staff to work in several recreation areas throughout the forest. The Forestry Recreation Technicians will interact with public visitors to the forest and help manage trails, campgrounds, recreation areas, facilities, and the budget for the recreation program. American YouthWorks seeks Conservation Corps Crew Leaders and Members

The American YouthWorks Texas Conservation Corps is seeking young adults to serve as Conservation Corps Crew members in multiple capacities and locations. This include Conservation and Disaster Crew leaders and members in Houston, Austin, and Baton Rouge; Houston Environmental Action Team crew leaders and members; Integrated Resource Crew leaders and members; and GulfCorps crew leaders and members. Texas Conservation Corps seeks GulfCorps Crew Members

Texas Conservation Corps is seeking dedicated young adults to serve on a crew of AmeriCorps members from September 2021 – March 2022. The GulfCorps Crew will protect and restore the Gulf’s lands and waters through conservation projects such as trail construction & improvement, habitat restoration, invasive plant removal, and wildland fuel reduction throughout the region. Members will receive a monthly stipend of $1,550-1,700, an AmeriCorps Education Award to help pay for student loans, tuition, or other academic expenses, First Aid & CPR training, and have the opportunity to network with partner agencies. Candidates must be aged 18-28 and have a high school degree or GED to qualify for the position. No previous experience is necessary for Crew Members and five months of previous hands-on conservation experience is necessary for Crew Leader.
