The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center, whose mission is to provide education about the natural environment to people of all ages, and to protect and enhance the Arboretum as a haven and sanctuary for native plants and animals, is seeking to fill two summer internships for undergraduate or graduate students – Conservation and Ecological Restoration Intern and Ecology and Entomology Intern. These are 8-week internships, preferably from May 25 through July 17, however start and end dates are flexible. This positions are up to 40 hours a week, Tuesday-Saturday. Harris County Precinct 4’s Mercer Botanic Gardens is seeking paid summer interns and volunteers. Learn how to maintain a herbarium or study conservation in the field under Mercer’s botanists and plant experts. The Houston Arboretum & Nature Center is a private non-profit nature sanctuary that provides education about the natural environment and plays a vital role in protecting plants and animals in the heart of the City of Houston. The Center’s Summer Camp is a 10-week nature camp for children ages 4-12, running June 1 through August 7. The Center has three paid internship positions available for Education or Biology majors to act as co-teachers. This is a great way to get some hands-on experience working with students and learn more about the native flora and fauna in our region. The salary is $10/hour.
