The Houston Zoo Collegiate Conservation Program is a 10-week internship sponsored by ExxonMobil. The Houston Zoo is committed to cultivating the next generation of conservation heroes. Each summer 10 interns are selected to train, learn, and work at the Houston Zoo and regional conservation partners. In 2020, the internship will run for ten weeks from May 18-July 24. Houston Zoo is seeking an Interpretive Planning Manager who will, among other duties, develop the story of an exhibit including interpretive graphic content and concepts for interactive displays in collaboration with exhibit design, outside consultants and graphics teams; and design a zoo-wide interpretive plan which serves to articulate and document the intended guest experience, and the varied means of creating that experience, simultaneously with the development of other aspects of the exhibition such as concept, design and storylines. Houston Zoo is seeking a Teen Programs Specialist who will support year-round teen (ages 13-17) programs within the Conservation Education department. The goal of these programs is to cultivate the next generation of conservation heroes by connecting teens to nature, fostering a sense of care for the environment, and providing them with opportunities to act.
