By popular demand the WOBA Fish-Off  has been resurrected!

We will be holding this event in conjunction with Friends of Woodland Park’s Happy Trails and Hot Dogs event.

Location: Woodland Park, 212 Parkview (off Houston Avenue) MAP
Registration: 8-9 am (we’ll be around for the early birds)
Turn in: 11 am-12 pm
Judge announcements: 12:30 pm

Cost: A suggested donation of $1 for under 12, $3 for all other individuals, $5 for family or team up to 5, and FREE with $10 membership

The first Saturday in June (which is 6/3/17) is TPWD’s annual Free Fishing Day and no one is required to have a fishing license when fishing on that day.

Trophies to be awarded to the Biggest, Ugliest and Most Unusual fish caught in the White Oak Bayou. Other awards will include Best Fish Lips; Best One That Got Away Story; Biggest trash item pulled from the White Oak Bayou/

There will be activities for the children, trail tours and free Hot Dogs for all!

Friends of Woodland Park Happy Trails and Hot Dogs
Saturday, June 3, 2017 11:00am – 1:00pm
​The Friends of Woodland Park will grill and provide hot dogs, chips and root beer floats. Activities include the always popular Bayou City Play’s pop-up playground and guided nature tours in the woods by a Texas Master Naturalist.  The Houston Avenue replica trolley in the park will be yarn-bombed to celebrate National Yarn Bomb day.  Dedication of the recently installed B-cycle station will be held at noon.
