Gulf Council Hosts a Public Hearing Webinar to Gather Input on Modifications to the Commercial Individual Fishing Quota Program
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will host a webinar to gather public comments on Reef Fish Amendment 36A, which considers modifying the commercial individual fishing quota program. The Council is considering actions to improve program compliance, address non-activated accounts, and authority to retain annual allocation before a quota reduction.

The webinar public hearing will begin at 6:00 p.m EST on Wednesday, March 22, 2017.

All comments received during public hearings will be presented to Council in April before final action is taken on the Amendment.

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is one of eight regional Fishery Management Councils established by the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. The Council prepares fishery management plans, which are designed to manage fishery resources within the 200-mile limit of the Gulf of Mexico.
