The Houston Museum of Natural Sciences is opening the George Observatory for a viewing of the total lunar eclipse. This eclipse is special because it occurs a while the moon is at its closest to the earth, so it appears larger than usual in the sky. This is sometimes called a Super Moon.

This event will meet on the George Observatory viewing deck at Brazos Bend State Park. Admission to the park is $7 per person or use your State Parks pass. Admission to the observatory is $10 per person. The observatory will have telescopes out for use.
