Restoring Nature Through Permaculture (Series)
This four class module is open to anyone who has completed our prerequisite classes: Sustainable Living Through Permaculture classes 1 & 2. Offered in October and January. No ecology or nature training is necessary. In this module we will combine nature study at area prairies, woodlands, and watersheds with class sessions that explore restoration permaculture and its implications for sustaining our planet. We will plan and carry out a restoration project at a local site. Bring a sack lunch to our classes 2 & 4. At these classes, students should wear clothing appropriate for the weather and closed toe shoes. Be ready to get dirty at our class 4 restoration project. Class 1: Texas Ecosystems, Sunday, March 26, 12 – 5pm Japhet Creek Community Classroom Class 2: Restoring Nature Field Trip, Sunday, April 2, 10:00am – 3pm Schlenker School, 5600 N Braeswood Blvd, Houston, TX 77096 Class 3: Ecosystems, Sunday, April 9, 12 – 4:30pm Japhet Creek Community Classroom Class 4: Restoration Project, Sunday, April 23, 10am – 5pm Japhet Creek restoration project There are no refunds on classes.
