Hone your raptor identification skills with renowned birding instructor, Gary Clark. Great preparation for spring migration! Learn to distinguish Texas birds of prey by their silhouettes as they soar overhead, or by their profiles as they perch near the ground. Also enjoy a guided walk on the Arboretum trails to look for raptors and other birds.

Class schedule: 90-minutes in the classroom and 90-minutes on a hike in our woods. Wear walking shoes and weather-appropriate clothing. Bring binoculars, a notebook and your favorite field guide.

Instructor bio: Gary has been active in the birding community for over 35 years. He has a weekly column in the Houston Chronicle and San Antonio Express News. He has written four books and several articles in national magazines.
