The Limestone Bluffs Paddling Trail covers about 5.3 miles of quiet water on the Navasota River from the Confederate Reunion Grounds to Fort Parker State Park. The route is characterized by hardwood bottomlands and limestone bluffs, and wildlife such as waterfowl, beavers and white-tailed deer are commonly seen.

Each member will be responsible to reserve your own campsite for the weekend through the Texas State Park website at; http://texas.reserveworld.com/Home.aspx. Reservations with the Texas Park System are on a first come first serve basis. Hopefully with communication we can get close to each other.  The camping weekend will consist of Dutch Oven Cooking  with a pot luck evening meal. Who has the best Dutch Oven Cooking Skills?

Skill Level: Beginner. Familiarity with basic strokes and can make the boat go straight on flat water typically experienced on Armand Bayou. You can maneuver the boat on slowly moving water, possess an awareness of basic river safety and can confidently avoid hazards and strainers frequently experienced on Texas’ Colorado River or the Buffalo Bayou at a modest flow rate.

There is a launch and shuttle fee.  $4.00 launch fee, shuttle fee to be determined.  If enough people we may be able to provide our own shuttle.

Houston Canoe Club events require a current signed waiver for all HCC members.  ACA members who are not HCC members are welcome to join us so long as they are card-carrying members of ACA and sign a waiver.  Non-HCC and non-ACA members will be required to sign a waiver and pay a $5 fee to cover insurance for the event.
