Innovative Solutions to Intractable Health Problems: Webinar

This presentation will highlight efforts within EPA’s Office of Research and Development to develop and apply non-targeted analysis tools and techniques that will help revolutionize how exposure monitoring is conducted in the U.S. and abroad.

Traditional chemical screening and toxicity testing have focused on specific, individual chemicals, carefully analyzing the potential health and environmental risks from exposure to a single chemical at a time. However, the number of chemicals currently in commerce number in the tens of thousands, outpacing the rate of testing. Compounding this, real-world exposures are likely to include multiple chemicals that can compound or mitigate health and other effects.
