Houston is located along the Central flyway and over 500 species of birds migrate through or make Houston their home.  March through May is the peak migration season.  It is an exciting time for birders.  Many people travel from all over the world to bird in our area during the Spring migration season.

Houston Audubon is sponsoring free bird walks at the Edith Moore Nature Sanctuary in West Houston.  Bird walks will be led by Paul Fagala of Wild Birds Unlimited and Houston Audubon staff and volunteers every Wednesday morning, April 5-May 10 and every Saturday morning, April 8-May 13

.  All walks will begin at 8:00am and last 1-2 hours.  Birders will meet at the Edith Moore Log Cabin.  Novices are welcome and participants may arrive and leave as their schedules require.  Please park in the Memorial Drive Methodist Church parking lot at 12995 Memorial Drive and follow the trail to the Edith Moore Log Cabin.  Reservations are not necessary.  For more information, please visit the Houston Audubon website, www.houstonaudubon.org, or call 713-932-1639.
