HGS Flood Conference: Flooding in Southeast Texas: The Science Behind The Floods
4455 University Dr
Houston, TX 77004
USA
The Houston Geological Society (HGS) is coordinating a two-day, in-depth workshop on a very timely topic—flooding in Southeast Texas. Area governments, prominent universities, and industry are providing numerous expert speakers (such as Judge Ed Emmett, Congressman Culberson, Jeffrey Lindner, Dr. Philip Bedient of Rice Univ. and Dr. William Dupre of Univ. of Houston). This is an excellent opportunity for stakeholders such as homeowners, environmental professionals, businesses, and citizen groups to get technical background on key issues such as storms, climate, hydrology, flooding, and the flood mitigation techniques. The cost (only $200 for both days) is a low nonprofit rate and includes registration, meals and coffee breaks and 16 professional development hours). For further information and/or registration check the link (www.hgs.org/civicrm/event/inf o?id=1958) or call HGS at 713-463-9476.
