Series of Disaster Debris Workshops Set to Begin June 1
To address the need for communities to perform efficient and timely cleanup of disaster debris, H-GAC provides training and resources to prepare local governments for such an event. The 2017 series begins with Changes in Disaster Debris Management from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1.

Discussion points for this workshop will include:
- Debris 101 – A brief refresher for veterans and an overview for those new to disaster debris.
- In the News – A look at new policy changes.
- How big is bad? – New techniques to forecast debris volume and estimate debris damage.
- Case Studies – A comprehensive discussion of how communities are implementing new Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) processes.
