Houston-Galveston Area Council’s (H-GAC) Coastal Communities program is a locally-led effort to provide resources and support for small communities in coastal watersheds of the upper Texas Gulf Coast region. The program is designed to help small, coastal communities prevent water pollution by providing resources that evaluate nonpoint source reduction needs, locate funding opportunities, and promote education and outreach. The program is designed to help small communities without municipal separate storm sewer system permits (MS4) in the coastal areas of Brazoria, Chambers, Galveston, and Matagorda counties help residents engage in behavior change to reduce the potential for water pollution.
Drop in to learn how to talk about water pollution with your community, organization, HOA, civic group, business, or apartment complex. Meet with staff from a variety of nonprofit and government water quality organizations to learn what
outreach activities and materials are available to help spread the message to change behavior to reduce water pollution.Contact Becki Begley at 713-993-2410  to learn more about how H-GAC’s Coastal Communities Project can help you start a conversation.
