You should be at least Intermediate in paddling skills and be prepared to camp on the river. Â Skill level is described as:
Knowledge of basic whitewater safety, self-rescue and rescue such as retrieving a pinned boat. Must be able to capture small eddies, run Class 2 rapids confidently, but challenged by Class 3 rapids such as Cottonseed on the San Marcos at say 300-400 cfs.
Houston Canoe Club members need to have up to date waivers, or print out and sign for the trip. Â American Canoe Club members who are not HCC members may participate but must sign the HCC Waiver and supply their ACA membership number. Â Non-HCC and non-ACA members will need to pay a $5 fee and sign waiver.

Day 1 – Saturday, May 20th
Buffalo Point Recreation Area, Buffalo River National Park

Group Campsite Site is  $33.00 for the group (up to 10 People $3/head thereafter)

We will meet at Group Campsite G3, on Saturday and gather as folks arrive. It will be a leisurely day – visiting, going through gear for a last minute check and maybe even a little up river paddle to get the boats wet. Buffalo Point National Park has hiking trails, showers and a park store. Wild Bill’s Outfitter’s is a just outside the Park entry and they have ice and gear.
Day 2 – Sunday, May 21 – 9 Miles
Wild Bill’s Outfitter shuttle to put in.
Tyler Bend (mile 93) – Red Bluff (mile 102)
Day 3 – Monday, May 22 – 13 Miles
Red Bluff (mile 102) – Spring Creek Bluff (mile 115)
Day 4 – Tuesday, May 23 – 9 MilesÂ
Spring Creek Bluff (mile 115) – Devil’s Tea Table (mile 124.5)
On this day, we will pass Buffalo Point Camp Ground, it will be the last shower and flushing toilet until Saturday. We will stop here for lunch, showers and flushes, before continuing on to Devil’s Tea Table.
 Day 5 – Wednesday, May 24 – 10 Miles
Devil’s Tea Table (mile 124.5) – Horse Shoe Bend (mile 136.5)
Day 6 – Thursday, May 25 – 13 Miles
Horse Shoe Bend (mile 136.5) – Elephant Head/Campbell Shoal (Island) (148.5)
Day 7 – Friday, May 26- Elephant Head (mile 148.5) – Confluence of Buffalo and White River (mile 153) – Take Out 5.6 Miles down White River at Shipps Landing.Â
 Optional Overnight after getting off the water Friday – Wild Bill’s Cabin’s, Yellville, AR.  Spend the night in a comfy cabin, get a hot shower and hot meal before getting on the road home Saturday, May 27th.
