Enjoy a free, one-hour walking tour presented by BBP and Katy Prairie Conservancy, Buffalo Bayou – from Mastodons to Marathons. Led by Texas Master Naturalists, the tour will highlight how the landscape and ecology of 19th century Texas created Houston, as well as the importance of prairies in rebuilding this astonishing and all but vanished ecosystem.

On Mother’s Day (May 8) through the end of the month, step inside the Wortham Insurance Visitor Center at The Water Works to see and learn about some of the wildflowers growing in Buffalo Bayou Park.
