Venture through Moody Gardens’ attractions and discover firsthand how Moody Gardens can connect your students with nature. Complete the event scavenger hunt during your visit to earn up to 4 CPE hours. Stop by any of the vendors throughout Moody Gardens and learn more about educational opportunities available on Galveston Island.
Educator Open House is free for all qualifying educators, school staff, and students. Registration includes admission into attractions, entry in drawings for door prizes, education materials, a tote bag, and lunch.
Discounted day passes are available for accompanying guests. Once registered, you can purchase discounted day passes for family and friends to accompany you during Educator Open House.
Join Citizens’ Environmental Coalition as they visit the Hannah and Arthur Ginsbarg Nature Discovery Center in Bellaire. There will be a guided tour outside and a chance to view major renovations that were completed recently. They will visit the pocket priarie, deciduous woodlands, prairie wetland, and cypress pond in Russ Pitman Park; nature play area; and Critter Classroom. On the tour, you will learn about environmental education initiatives at a mainstay of environmental education inside the loop. The last part of the meeting is our traditional EEE Round-table Forum where members and attendees introduce themselves, their programs, make announcements and discuss challenges and successes in environmental education.
Juan Parras and Yvette Arellano of Texas Environmental Justice Advocacy Services (t.e.j.a.s.) will lead a tour addressing toxic sites in and around the greater Houston community.
Please meet at 1409 Sul Ross (Chapel Annex) at 9:15 a.m. for light breakfast and to board the bus. Lunch will not be provided. Space is limited.
