Take advantage of this lovely, laid back Chefs in the Field supper to come out and see what the Recipe for Success Foundation is up to at Hope Farms. On October 7, 2018, 6:30-9:30 p.m., four fantastic chefs will create a meal from produce harvested straight from the Foundation’s fields and heritage hogs from Jolie Vue Farms.
Start in the Chefs Garden with cocktails crafted with Tito’s Handmade Vodka and farm botanicals, along with tasty bites from their chefs. Then, gather round the harvest table for a parade of delicious courses matched with vintages from Monopole Wines and cold brews from St. Arnold.
Join AIA Houston for their 2018 Annual Meeting and Affiliate Appreciation Party, where they will elect 2019 Board of Directors and hand out some honors and awards. Catering and beverages by City Kitchen.
There will be a tour of the cistern at 6 p.m. for the first 40 attendees to arrive. They recommend arriving by 5:45 for the tour. Allow time to find parking.
The business portion of the meeting will begin at 6:30, following the tour.
Head to Eureka Heights Brewing Company for a fun evening of trivia benefiting the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. 10% of all bar sales from the evening will go to support conservation and education initiatives at the Arboretum. All 6 rounds of trivia are free to play with 4 players per team. No registration required.
The trivia will be held on Oct. 10, 2018, 7-9 p.m., but the Tap Room opens at 4 p.m. so feel free to come by early for a drink.Â
Get together a team of friends, coworkers, or clients and enjoy a game of golf – all to support the Arboretum’s vital conservation and educational programs. Registration includes a golf cart, green fees, player gifts, snacks, and lunch provided by Beck’s Prime. Advance registration is required.

Environmental lawyer, teacher, and author, Jim Blackburn, will be presented with the 2018 Armand Yramategui Conservation Award for his exceptional commitment to conservation and preservation of Galveston Bay and the greater Gulf Coast region.
The Armand Award, presented by Armand Bayou Nature Center, recognizes those who make a significant impact communicating the environmental vision Armand Yramartegui inspired more than 40 years ago. Previous recipients include the City of Seabrook, master naturalist and environmentalist Emmeline Dodd, Galveston Bay Foundation, and Lady Bird Johnson.
