Nature experiences for preschoolers!

Science Sprouts is an exciting series for curious kids who love nature and science. Classes will include a short lesson on the topic of the day, followed by a nature walk on the trails of the Arboretum. Each class will have a fun mixture of games, live animals, biofacts, crafts, story time, or music. Parents are welcome to participate with their child or simply drop them off.

Cost: $225 members*/$350 non-members for the semester

*Must be a Family Tree Member or above for member rate.

Beach & Bay Day: Come Out & Play @ Galveston Island State Park

Spend your day hunting seashells, building sand castles, splashing in the ocean, or hiking the miles of bayside trails and boardwalks.

We’re waiving all entrance fees for folks to experience the best of our park! Totally free family fun, marine life education and wildlife encounters.  Join the park staff and the Friends of Galveston Island State Park to see what all the buzz is about.

Masks are optional for vaccinated participants and social distancing is recommended. Please wear a mask if unvaccinated. Please contact Julie Francis at hermannparkbirdsurvey@gmail.com if you’d like to participate. The Hermann Park Survey is conducted on the second Monday of the month. Everyone is welcome — beginners, experts, or even if you’re just curious. Please bring binoculars. If you don’t have any, let them know in advance and they’ll provide them.
