The Greens Bayou Regatta will combine recreation, stewardship, and education on one of Houston’s most beautiful and secluded waterways, Greens Bayou. Come join in on the fun November 4th, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Brock Park. Lastly, a portion of this year’s proceeds will be contributed to the recovery and relief of Harvey, especially those areas heavily affected along Greens Bayou. The Greens Bayou Corridor Coalition appreciate your continued support and participation in making this event grand and can’t wait to see you out on the water!
Urban Wild is a group of young professionals actively supporting the work of Memorial Park Conservancy through membership and service. In return, Urban Wild members are exposed to various professional networks, as well as opportunities to learn more about, and advocate for, a treasured Houston greenspace. Enjoy a lovely night underneath the stars on top of the Living Bridge with food, lights, and music at their annual Urban Wild Bridge Bash by registering as a member.
Help Float the Boat
Artist Boat’s 14th annual fundraiser is on November 10th from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm at the Trolley Station at 2021 Strand, in Galveston, Texas. There will be live music, dinner, a bar, silent auctions, and an art auction.
Artist Boat is thrilled to have served over 100,000 participants and to have conserved 664 acres of land on Galveston Island. Join us on November 10th and help to continue to Float the Boat!

Come join Bayou Land Conservancy on November 11, 2017, as they celebrate another successful year of conserving land along our bayous, creeks and streams at their “Swamp Thing Gala.” You might even learn some fun facts about wetlands and all the critters and plants that live there. Share a night of inspiration with co-workers, clients, friends and nature lovers. Who knows, you could catch a glimpse of the mysterious “swamp thingâ€! The event will be held at the beautiful Southwestern Energy Headquarters, a 26-acre property located adjacent to the Spring Creek Greenway just off I-45. The grounds are planted with native plants and grasses that are irrigated with water from the nearby retention ponds. The sites serves as an excellent example of environmentally friendly actions that we can all employ. The 2017 Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) Sporting Clays Shoot will be held on
Monday, December 18, 2017, at the Greater Houston Gun Club. Come join us for a day
of fun, shooting, fellowship, raffles, exhibitors, food and more. Experienced and novice
shooters alike are encouraged to attend.
All proceeds support TWA’s mission of serving Texas wildlife and its habitat while protecting property rights, hunting heritage, and the conservation efforts of those who value and steward wildlife resources.

For two nights, on February 9 and 10, 2018, Houston Arboretum & Nature Center’s always popular Tapas on the Trails is back for Valentine’s Day 2018. Bring your special someone for a romantic evening getaway without leaving the city. Enjoy a softly-lit walk through the Arboretum’s nature sanctuary, pausing along the way to indulge in four delicious Spanish-inspired courses paired perfectly with carefully selected beers and wines. Guests receive a commemorative glass to take home. The evening begins at the Meadow, overlooking a one-acre pond and ends at the Nature Center, where guests will enjoy sparkling wine, handcrafted desserts, a coffee and espresso bar, and the company of a live owl.
The food menu includes: a charcuterie board starter, tortilla espanola accompanied by a toasted almond and vinaigrette salad, your choice of chorizo, chicken, or vegetarian paella, and an array of Spanish inspired dessert options. All are paired with appropriate wines and beers.
Exciting improvements are coming to the corner of Fannin and Cambridge Streets to be known as the Hermann Park Family Commons. Join the Hermann Park Conservancy for a fun day in the park, where you can learn about the development of and provide feedback to renovations in this area of the park.
Conservancy staff will be on hand to share preliminary ideas for the Hermann Park Family Commons and take your questions and feedback. Food trucks and family-friendly activities will also be present. You are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy with your friends and family.
The Hermann Park Family Commons is located at the intersection of Fannin and Cambridge Streets, near the Buddy Carruth Playground for All Children and the Fannin Picnic Pavilion. This event is free and open to the public. Concessions will be available for purchase. Free parking is available in Parking Lot S, located next to Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church.
