Avoid the consumer hype of the “holiday season†with daily intimate, beautifully-written portraits of wild animals and their adaptations to the cold and dark of winter. The author sees in these creatures lessons for adapting to the “winters†in our own lives. The book, although intended as a devotional for the Christian season of Advent, is very unusual in that it contains no overtly religious content, making it suitable for people of all faiths, or no faith at all.
