Leave your troubles at the door, and join us for a chill craft event, second Thursdays from 6-8pm. Bring what you’re making, and hang out with us while we’re making what we’re making. Knit, crochet, embroider, slow stitch, paint, draw, collage, quill, whittle — whatever. BYOB — light snacks provided. Must be over 18.

Help restore the prairie by potting and planting native plants and forbs every Friday, rain or shine. You do not need to attend every Friday.

EcoTots are for children 18-36 months with an adult every Friday.
EcoKids are for children ages 3-6 every Wednesday and Friday.
EcoSchoolers are for homeschool children ages 7-10 every Wednesday and Friday.    EcoAdventurers are for children ages 11-14 every Wednesday.

The monthly bird count will begin at 7 a.m., starting off from the front parking lot of Armand Bayou Nature Center, dispersing from there. Please try and be here by 7 a.m. as gates will lock promptly at 7:05. If you plan on attending, feel free to shoot Andrew Hamlett an email or just show up.

Free to attend, donations appreciated. Work on your bird watching skills while helping the Arboretum monitor bird populations on a fun, relaxed morning walk. Join the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center on the second Saturday of each month at the front door of the building for a two-hour bird walk led by Kelsey Low and Theo Ostler, a resident bird enthusiast. We welcome all levels of bird watching skill and all ages (as long as you’re quiet) – but no dogs, please! If you have binoculars of your own, please bring them. This is the Monthly Meeting of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby – Houston Chapter. The agenda will include discussion on the Energy Innovation & Carbon Dividend Act (H.R. 2307), status reports on current projects, and next action steps that we plan to take. Members and Guests are cordially invited to attend.

Citizens’ Climate Lobby (CCL) is a non-partisan, grass-roots
organization that works to create political will for climate solutions
by building constructive and respectful working relationships with
members of Congress. CCL advocates for Carbon Fee and Dividend (CF&D),
a revenue-neutral, market-based climate change solution, with all
revenue returned directly to households.

Come out to their monthly meetings every 2nd Saturday of the month. Their market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy will drastically reduce emissions, create jobs, and support small businesses and families — all without growing government.  CF&D is the climate change solution that economists and climate scientists alike say is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world.
