Help restore the prairie by potting and planting native plants and forbs every Friday, rain or shine. You do not need to attend every Friday.
Looking for a place to get your children outdoors? ABNC’s EcoClasses will allow your child to explore, discover and observe (STEM). Join them for some great nature experiences! Check out their website at abnc.org for details or call 713-274-2668 to reserve your spot.
EcoTots are for children 18-36 months with an adult every Friday.
EcoKids are for children ages 3-6 every Wednesday and Friday.
EcoSchoolers are for homeschool children ages 7-10 every Wednesday and Friday.  EcoAdventurers are for children ages 11-14 every Wednesday.
Please bring a Snack, Refillable Water Bottle, mask, closed toe shoes and dress for the weather.

Additional Notes:Â This is a timed run that benefits Texas wildlife.
There will be prizes for top male and female runners, best wildlife costume, face painting for the kids and much more!

There will be a raffle for some fun prizes like; Sport Baskets, Starbucks Baskets, Gift Cards, etc… the day of the 5K! Raffle tickets are pre-sale only. You may add some to your registration and your raffle tickets will be in your race packet! You can also stop by the Center and purchase them.

This annual event raises funds and awareness to implement the proposed 27.5 mile paddle trail. Register by September 26th for this exciting race and experience some of Houston’s hidden natural areas!  Workday: Fourth Saturday of each month, 9:00 a.m. to noon or later
Visitation of Deer Park Prairie is by appointment only. Since the prairie will be attended on scheduled workdays, they will be ideal days to visit. Please email HNPAT@TexasPrairie for appointment on either workdays or any other days.
Please do not park directly in front of our neighbors’ houses – park across the street.
As always on the prairie, wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. For seed collecting, bring clippers if you have them. Also recommended are long-sleeved shirt, hat, water, insect repellent, sunscreen.

Please join the Houston Chapter of Native Prairies Association of Texas for their Fall Wildflower Day to enjoy the fall blooms and wildlife at the Lawther-Deer Park Prairie Preserve.
See prairie plants that you can use in your garden to attract pollinators, learn seed collecting techniques and take some Deer Park Prairie seeds home. Experience the beauty of insects through Chuck Duplant’s photos at tinyurl.com/CDuplant; then come and learn about them from him in person. Bring your camera or smartphone to take photos of plants and animals that you see and post on the Deer Park Prairie Project on Naturalist.org. Activities include:

Learn about the animals of Armand Bayou and the habitats they live in. Demonstrations vary from week to week: mammals, birds and reptiles.
First we volunteer, then we beer! Meet behind the Cullen Running Trails Center to help Memorial Park Conservancy in our volunteering efforts, then hang out and enjoy a complimentary Saint Arnold Brewing Company beer (or 2). Lawn Games and Food trucks will be onsite too!
