May is Preservation Month and the Historic Resources Committee, in partnership with the National Trust and Association for Preservation Technology Texas invite you to join them at a Happy Hour at Public Services on Tuesday May 28, 5:30pm—7:30pm. This free, monthly workshop addresses the basics on how to install and operate a solar system. It covers topics such as solar array types, costs of equipment and labor, permitting, energy savings, and reliability. The instructor, Bill Swann, is an expert in solar energy and has built many of his own solar systems. This workshop is ideal for all people; Bill can answer the simplest and most technical of questions. If you want to learn more about solar, this is the workshop for you. Texas Wildlife Association’s free L.A.N.D.S. Outreach Teacher Workshops are open to all formal and informal educators. TWA will hold ten workshops this summer, beginning June 4, 2019,  throughout the Houston area. They will cover ways to introduce hands-on science programs into your classroom that relate to conservation, wildlife, and natural resources. All workshops are the same but in different locations, so please only sign up for one. To register and for more information, visit texas-wildlife.org.
