Water and natural resource professionals are invited to the next Texas Watershed Coordinator Roundtable. The event will be held in College Station at the Texas A&M University, Thomas G. Hildebrand Equine Complex, Andras B Classroom from 9:30 AM – 3:30 PM. Parking is located in front of the buildings and is closely monitored by the university’s Transportation Services so we will be purchasing and providing visitor parking passes to those who do not have a TAMU parking permit. We will have someone at the entrance of the lot that day to hand out the parking passes.
We’d like to invite you to learn more about how communities throughout the Houston-Galveston region are revitalizing their downtowns at H-GAC’s Bringing Back Main Street: Revitalization Roundtable on Tuesday, October 24.
During this roundtable, the Texas Historical Commission will present ways they support local downtown commercial districts and their small business tenants.
Emily Koller will talk about DowntownTX.org, a new tool from the commission that showcases downtown real estate and acts as a data clearinghouse for Main Street programs, economic development coordinators, chambers of commerce, and others.
Not only will you hear about exciting innovative programs, there will be an opportunity to network with others working to improve our region’s downtowns.
As landfill space and raw materials become scarcer, recycling of used materials becomes a more cost-effective and sensible option. Periodically the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC)Â hosts workshops to bring new ideas and knowledge to local governments on a wide range of recycling-related topics.
We will travel by bus from H-GAC to two Waste Management Materials Recovery Facilities:
- Houston Gasmer Drive Single Stream MRF:Â 4939 Gasmer Drive, Houston, 77035
- Houston Clay Road Traditional MRF:Â 9590 Clay Road, Houston, TX 77080
Please arrive at H-GAC by 8:45 a.m. We will meet in the lobby on the first floor. The bus will leave H-GAC promptly at 9:00 a.m. and return by 1:00 p.m.Â
Registration is required for this roundtable field trip as space is limited on the bus and at the facilities.Â

The Small Firm Roundtable meets monthly on the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 PM. This group provides a closed forum for dialogue among peers and a venue to support architects who have recently branched out on their own, have a growing firm, or are considering starting their own businesses. Meetings consist of focused conversation and invaluable insights on important issues and practices.
No reservation is necessary.
