Come out and catch some trout in Pond 1S!
We will have Pond 1S stocked with Rainbow Trout! There is a limit of 5 fish per person. per day and you must catch your own! No fishing license required!
The time of the stocking will vary, but fishing will be allowed all day until the park closes at 5:00PM!
Join a staff naturalist for a basic fishing class and learn different types of tackle, rod and reels, knot tying, and more. Afterwards, go fishing in Spring Creek. Participants bring fishing tackle, bait, and sack lunch. Reservations required beginning Feb. 7, 2018.
Programs are for all ages unless otherwise noted.
All Jesse H. Jones Park & Nature Center program requiring reservations are limited in size and open to one family per phone call. Group reservations are not allowed unless otherwise indicated. Preferential reservations are given to Harris County residents. Persons not residing in Harris County may attend a space-limited program if spaces are available. All programs and events are free of charge unless otherwise noted and open to the public regardless of socioeconomic level, race, color, sex, physical ability, national origin, or religion. Anyone requiring special assistance to participate in these programs should contact the nature center. Programs meet at the Nature Center unless otherwise noted. Solid shoes are recommended for all walks. Call 281-446-8588 for reservations or information.
Bring the family to the park and canoe and fish on the Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve’s (KMP) 40-acre lake. Registrations will be held throughout the day at the park. Canoes, paddles, and life vests and fishing equipment will be provided.
Precinct 4’s Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve is an 80-acre property featuring Marshall Lake, which spans approximately 40 acres, plus a staff building, paved roads and parking lots, restroom facilities, and 1.7 miles of trails.Â
