Support Memorial Park Conservancy’s annual Picnic For the Park, as friends and supporters celebrate the hard work from the previous year, and the exciting things to come. Picnic For the Park is one of the most important events for Houston’s treasured greenspace each year.

Join Urban Harvest for the largest one-day sale in the country. Over 4,000 trees in 100 varieties will be available for their annual Fruit Tree Sale event. All trees have been specifically chose for the Houston soil and climate. This family-friendly event also features the Green Thumbs Education Pavilion presented by Kroger, live music and food trucks for a festival-like experience. All proceeds will benefit Urban Harvest. Volunteering opportunities are also available.
Houston Arboretum & Nature Center’s always-popular Tapas on the Trails is back for Valentine’s Day 2019. Bring your special someone for a romantic evening getaway without leaving the city.
Enjoy a softly-lit walk through the Arboretum’s nature sanctuary, pausing along the way to indulge in four delicious French-inspired courses and a few other treats from Cotton Culinary, paired perfectly with carefully selected beers and wines. Guests receive a commemorative glass to take home. The evening ends at the Nature Center, where guests will enjoy sparkling wine, handcrafted desserts, a coffee bar, and the opportunity to meet a live owl.
Help raise funds for the Arboretum’s mission of conservation and nature education while enjoying our most unique event of the year.
Bring your sweetheart to Hermann Park on Valentine’s Day. Enjoy a romantic dinner while watching the sun set on the Pinewood Cafe patio, then cruise around the lake on a pedal-boat ride.
Reservations are required for seating times at either 5:30 or 7:00. Beer and wine are available for purchase. Tickets are non-refundable.
Birding is the birder’s equivalent to a walkathon, but better (because you get to look at birds all day). Teams of 2 or more (typically 4-5) compete to count as many bird species as possible in a consecutive 24-hour period. Birdathon is primarily a fundraiser, so teams also compete to raise the most money for the best cause: bird conservation. Birding can be done anywhere in Texas but the Houston Audubon encourages you to visit their sanctuaries for a great birding experience. Whether you can identify 2 species or 200, birders of all experience levels are welcome to participate in Birdathon! For more information, visit sweet_houstonaudubon.blueskysweet.com.
Join the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory for their second annual Brew on the Bayou. Come sample and enjoy specialty brews from local breweries as well as wines. Listen to live music, grab a bite to eat from local food trucks and check out some hot items during their silent auction.
Tickets are $20/person in advance – call 979-480-0999. Tickets will cost $25 at the door. ID required at door for alcohol drinking.
GCBO is seeking donations for their silent auction and volunteers to help run Brew.

Come on out to our annual fundraiser, Hammers and Ales, a Happy Hour style event at Karbach Brewery on April 4th, 2019, now with live music! Enjoy a bottomless selection of Karbach beer, as well as tasty heavy bites from Karbach’s kitchen, a rad silent auction, a cornhole tournament, other fun games and a raffle. This year, the event will move downstairs to the outside area to accommodate an expected crowd of 400 plus attendees. And, we’re excited to announce live music from Eagles tribute band Already Gone. All event proceeds will go to support the Houston Community ToolBank.
And as usual, we’ll be raffling and auctioning off valuable items, all to raise money for the ToolBank’s mission and ongoing Harvey recovery efforts: serving Houston-area nonprofits, churches, schools and community groups by providing tools for pennies on the dollar to drive volunteerism in our community. All proceeds will benefit the ToolBank directly.
We are offering a limited number of VIP tickets. VIP tickets include early admission, swag bags and rapid check in.
We look forward to seeing you at Hammers & Ales on April 4th, 2019!

When you participate in a Fight For Air Climb event, you are stepping up to make a positive impact for those affected by lung disease. You will raise funds to support the American Lung Association’s mission while climbing the stairs of a skyscraper.
Whether you are climbing alone or with friends and family, for a healthier lifestyle or in honor of all those who are affected by lung disease, you will achieve a sense of personal accomplishment when you reach the top. Defeating the physical challenge and reaching the height of your fundraising potential will be a gratifying experience. Every Step Counts as we move forward in our fight for healthy lungs and clean air!
