The seventh edition of the Willow Waterhole 2017 MusicFEST will be held on April 13-14. Coming on the heels of last year’s successful MusicFEST 2018, which featured 20 hours of FREE diverse music provided by 16 Pro Bands and 7 Student-School Band and the dynamic Artist Village with over 40 participating artists, our hopes are that this year’s event will exceed your expectations in quality performances and exciting amenities. Come join us for two fun-filled days of music and entertainment at the naturally beautiful 290-acre Willow Waterhole Greenway.
Volunteers are needed as greeters, parking assistants, tent and equipment set up, etc.

On April 17, 2019, from 5-8 p.m., the City of Houston will host the 1st Annual Student Innovation Showcase at Houston City Hall. Mayor Sylvester Turner will visit with student teams that have been awarded an Eco-Rise Eco-Audit Grant Award and will speak about the city’s sustainability initiatives.
The Bayou Preservation Association presents the 9th Annual Terry Hershey Bayou Stewardship Awards, honoring individuals for their outstanding commitment to aiding in the conservation, preservation, restoration or advocacy of Houston’s waterways. Join us for the 2019 Terry Hershey Bayou Stewardship Award Luncheon honoring Mayor Sylvester Turner, Kevin Shanley and Jackie Young, with a special recognition award to Ed Emmett.
The AIA Houston Design Awards program recognizes design excellence in architecture, residential architecture, interior architecture, restoration/renovation, and urban design. Criteria to be used by the jury include quality of design, resolution of the program idea, sustainable responsibility, innovation, thoughtfulness, and technique.
The Our Great Region Awards recognize outstanding organizations in the 13-county region working to make the region an even better place to live, work, and prosper. Submitted projects must advance one or more of the Our Great Region 2040 plan’s Big Ideas. For more information on how to register visit www.ourregion.org/awards.
The Texas Environmental Excellence Awards is an annual awards program that honors achievements in environmental preservation and protection. There are ten diverse award categories that provide citizens, communities, businesses, and organizations an opportunity to obtain the state’s highest environmental honor and be recognized for their environmental projects. The deadline for submission is September 27th.
Since 1993, they have honored more than 250 successful environmental projects and efforts. By honoring these winners, the TCEQ hopes to encourage others to initiate like-minded projects and reinforce a spirit of environmental stewardship. These are the categories:

- Civic/Community
- Education
- Environmental Educator of the Year
- Individual
- Innovative Operations/Management
- Pollution Prevention
- Technical/Technology
- Water Conservation
- Youth
Shell Educators’ Preview: Start your evening at 4 p.m. and earn one hour of CPE credit while viewing our newly renovated George W. Strake Hall of Malacology.
HMNS’ Educator Members will have an opportunity to speak to Tina Petway, the
Museum’s Associate Curator of Malacology, during the Shell Educators’ Preview.
As a special treat, all guests will also be able to visit our newest special exhibition,
Art of the Brick until 6:00 p.m.!
The Educator Event @HMNS: Continue your evening with us starting at 5 p.m.
and earn up to three additional hours of CPE credit depending on which
programming you attend. HMNS is featuring several ways to earn CPE credit from
attending workshops to taking a guided tour to seeing a show in our Planetarium.
Educators are able to earn a total of up to 4 hours of CPE credit while attending
HMNS’, An Evening for Educators!
