From Jan. 2- 4, 2018, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day, dance along to the beat as Baytown Nature Center takes a journey to the Antarctic. Discover how animals adapt to living in the cold and how we all impact their habitat from right here in Texas. Conclude camp enjoying snow just like the penguins.

Let the winter adventures begin! Discover how woodland creatures adapt to cooler weather. Seek out animal tracks and clues along the trails and creek banks. Learn winter survival skills. Make cozy dens for education animals. Create nature crafts and science projects to take home, including snow slime.

Goosebumps & Mysteries

Come unravel nature’s mysteries as Houston Arboretum explores creatures of the night, creepy crawlies and the folklore that surrounds them. Learn about bats, owls and other mysterious creatures of the animal world. Live animal encounters, outdoor games, nature hikes, and lots of hands-on fun science activities are always a part of the Arboretum experience. Winter Camp is for explorers ages 4 to 12.

Join the Gulf Coast Bird Observatory for their second annual Brew on the Bayou. Come sample and enjoy specialty brews from local breweries as well as wines. Listen to live music, grab a bite to eat from local food trucks and check out some hot items during their silent auction.

Tickets are $20/person in advance – call 979-480-0999. Tickets will cost $25 at the door. ID required at door for alcohol drinking.

GCBO is seeking donations for their silent auction and volunteers to help run Brew.

• March 22nd — GCBO needs your help to set up, starting at 9 a.m. until about 2 p.m. Coffee and donuts in the morning and pizza lunch will be served.
• March 23rd — Volunteer hours will be from 3-9 p.m. Food truck meal vouchers and soft drinks / water will be provided.

The Living Coast performance combines original music, live narration, and cinematic images of the Texas gulf coast.  Surfers and sailors, shrimpers and oilmen, poets and scientists all share their stories about this complicated region of serene beauty, vast industry, and incredible contradictions.  Supported by a grant from the National Endowment of the Arts, the concert will tour throughout Texas and the midwest in 2020.

The Living Coast film was produced by cinematographer Anlo Sepulveda and drone pilot Reagan Jobe.  Climate scientists Wendy Gordon and Megan O’Connell perform on stage with Montopolis as well as providing educational outreach before and after the concerts.

Join Levy Park for their Prelude Concert Series!. This 45-minute music experience is geared toward babies, toddlers, preschoolers, and the grownups who love them! Prelude Music Classes for Children’s curriculum nurtures creativity, self-expression, and development through a variety of musical styles arranged and pitched for `6children. The Gulf Coast Bird Observatory’s “Brew on the Bayou” third annual celebration will take place on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at GCBO’s headquarters in Lake Jackson at 299 Highway 332 West.

Sample and enjoy local specialty brews and wines from eight breweries and three wineries. Listen to live music by the Intercoastal Pirates, watch a live raptor show, grab a bite to eat from local food trucks, and check out the silent auction. Our beautiful wooded grounds will be lit by torchlight. Take a pontoon boat ride on the bayou. Walk our nature trails.

Included in the ticket price is everything except food trucks and dessert table. Admission includes 12 drink tasting tickets; additional beer or wine tickets will be available for purchase.
