Visitation of Deer Park Prairie is by appointment only. Since the prairie will be attended on scheduled workdays, they will be ideal days to visit. Please email Lan.shen@txgcmn.org for appointment on either workdays or any other days.

Please do not park directly in front of our neighbors’ houses – park across the street.

As always on the prairie, wear closed-toe shoes and long pants. For seed collecting, bring clippers  if you have them. Also recommended are long-sleeved shirt, hat, water, insect repellent, sunscreen.

EcoTots are for children 18-36 months with an adult every Friday.
EcoKids are for children ages 3-6 every Wednesday and Friday.
EcoSchoolers are for homeschool children ages 7-10 every Wednesday and Friday.    EcoAdventurers are for children ages 11-14 every Wednesday.

Please bring a Snack, Refillable Water Bottle, mask, closed toe shoes and dress for the weather.

E.P.I.C. is a free service learning club for high school teens that is aimed at learning about, and solving coastal environmental problems through hands-on projects.

Interested to connect your Christian faith to care for the earth?  Want to learn how your church can live the faith through caring for creation?  Or, want to improve your own stewardship?  Join a free online course, Creation Care 101, and begin a journey of restoring faith, justice, and creation.  Each session will feature talks from leading theologians and scientists, inspiring stories from churches, facilitated heart-led conversation, and tools for practical implementation. Details on content/schedule are given below.  All classes will be recorded, so don’t worry if you can’t make every class.  Register at: https://creationcarecollective.org/event/creation-justice-101-fall-program/. Lisa Brenskelle will act as facilitator for the Lutherans Restoring Creation group, providing additional resources and insights from her decades of earthkeeping ministry. Prairie Friday @ Armand Bayou Nature Center

An opportunity to participate in stewardship work for registered volunteers–if you are not already a volunteer, please check out Armand Bayou Nature Centers’ website for more information.

Help restore the prairie by potting and planting native plants and forbs every Friday, rain or shine. You do not need to attend every Friday.
