Calling environmentalists, animal lovers, Christians and people of all faith/spiritual traditions to join a weekly book discussion group using the book Wild Hope: Stories for Lent from the Vanishing. Christians are saying – Lent isn’t until 2022, why are you reading this now? Non-Christians are wondering why would they be invited to read a book related to a season in the Christian calendar? Wild Hope contains 25 beautifully-written, intimate portraits of the lives of endangered animals, the hazards they face and how people are responding to save them. The book is inspiring and awakens deep empathy. The stories do not contain any religious/spiritual material, yet they are incredibly moving. Readers of all backgrounds will find this little book powerful. Join a small group to read this book from September 1 – Oct. 4 (the Season of Creation in the Christian calendar) & meet to discuss it – that’s five 900-word stories/week. Please register for this event on www.eventbrite.com

Event Information
About this event
Avoid the consumer hype of the “holiday season†with daily intimate, beautifully-written portraits of wild animals and their adaptations to the cold and dark of winter. The author sees in these creatures lessons for adapting to the “winters†in our own lives. The book, although intended as a devotional for the Christian season of Advent, is very unusual in that it contains no overtly religious content, making it suitable for people of all faiths, or no faith at all. So, Christians, environmentalists, animal lovers & others will be captivated and inspired by these stories. Join a weekly discussion group, online, to reflect together on All Creation Waits.
