The Bayou Preservation Association Board of Directors invites you to laissez les bons temps rouler at Bons Temps on the Bayou! Funds raised through this event will support the Bayou Preservation Association’s CPR mission: to celebrate, protect and restore the natural richness of all our bayous and streams. Their ongoing programs include stream corridor restoration, citizen science water quality, trash-free bayous, and bayou appreciation. The Woods Project 2018 Fall Luncheon
The Woods Project trips changes lives in a thousand different ways. In the woods, our students gain new confidence, develop critical life and leadership skills, and find a renewed drive to succeed against all odds. Join for lunch to meet The Woods Project alumni, hear their inspiring stories of transformation, and learn more about how we are changing the trajectory of Houston’s most underserved youth.
The woods Project are thrilled to welcome keynote speaker Coert Voorhees. Coert is the author of several award winning novels, including his newest novel On the Free, the story of 3 young campers and the struggles they face while being stranded in the Colorado wilderness.
Your support will help change lives as they expand their programs and the number of children who can benefit from The Woods Project!

Join the American Lung Association in Texas, for their second annual “Sip & See†fundraiser. At this cocktail party, you will enjoy some delicious eats and drinks while you browse at their historical collection of Christmas Seals that goes back 100 years. They will also have a robust silent auction perfect for holiday gift giving ideas. You will hear updates from top doctors in Houston on lung health and expect a few surprises throughout the night.
Tee Off to Support the Houston SPCA’s Wildlife Center of Texas
The Wildlife Center of Texas is is the only trauma and wildlife rehabilitation center in southeast Texas that treats all injured, sick, or orphaned native wildlife species. It is also the leading provider of wildlife and environmental education programs in the region.
The Center is currently looking for sponsors to make this event a success. You can also create a team or play as an individual. All golfers will be treated to a fantastic breakfast and everyone will have the opportunity to bid on exciting silent auction items and meet their Education Ambassadors, including an Eastern Screech Owl, Great Horned Owl and Crested Caracara.
As of Dec. 3, 2018, there is only one spot left for the 2nd annual Blackwood holiday dinner. The evening includes delightful farm experiences, cocktail hour on the Baleyfield porch overlooking the gardens, a 5-course meal prepared with produce from their fields, and beer and wine pairings. Vegetarian alternatives available (please note in the dietary restrictions section).
Tired of weak environmental regulations and the toxic atmosphere we’re living in? Come VENT with us and FIGHT for a healthier Houston at our E-VENT, a 2019 Kick-off Party and Benefit Concert for Texas Campaign for the Environment. Highlights of the night include performance by local band Traveler, meet-and-mingle with Zero Waste Houston, artworks from UH design students, poetry reading on the environment, and much more. Support Memorial Park Conservancy’s annual Picnic For the Park, as friends and supporters celebrate the hard work from the previous year, and the exciting things to come. Picnic For the Park is one of the most important events for Houston’s treasured greenspace each year.

Join Urban Harvest for the largest one-day sale in the country. Over 4,000 trees in 100 varieties will be available for their annual Fruit Tree Sale event. All trees have been specifically chose for the Houston soil and climate. This family-friendly event also features the Green Thumbs Education Pavilion presented by Kroger, live music and food trucks for a festival-like experience. All proceeds will benefit Urban Harvest. Volunteering opportunities are also available.
Houston Arboretum & Nature Center’s always-popular Tapas on the Trails is back for Valentine’s Day 2019. Bring your special someone for a romantic evening getaway without leaving the city.
Enjoy a softly-lit walk through the Arboretum’s nature sanctuary, pausing along the way to indulge in four delicious French-inspired courses and a few other treats from Cotton Culinary, paired perfectly with carefully selected beers and wines. Guests receive a commemorative glass to take home. The evening ends at the Nature Center, where guests will enjoy sparkling wine, handcrafted desserts, a coffee bar, and the opportunity to meet a live owl.
